Vieworks, a leading provider of imaging solution, announced on the 20th that it held a groundbreaking ceremony on the 17th at the Hwaseong site to double the current production facility in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do.
Vieworks will invest KRW 23.5 billion in the project, which will last until February 2025, to expand its production facility by 6,319 square meters (1,914 square feet) and increase its total gross floor area by 2.1 times to 17,330 square meters (5,242 square feet). Upon completion of the expansion, the annual production capacity of medical imaging solutions (X-ray detectors, in-vivo imaging equipment) and machine vision cameras will be more than doubled.
"Vieworks has achieved remarkable growth since the completion of the Hwaseong site in 2020, and we are preparing for another leap forward with the expansion of production facilities in two years," said Hooshik Kim, CEO of Vieworks.
The expansion of the Hwaseong facility will allow Vieworks to increase production capacity for its flagship products and meet the growing demand for dynamic detectors and industrial detectors, which have seen significant sales growth over the past five years. The expansion will also provide space for the mass production of new products such as slide scanners and proton detectors, which the company is accelerating development of.
Meanwhile, Vieworks, founded in 1999, specializes in imaging solutions, producing and selling digital X-ray detectors and high-resolution industrial cameras. The company has successfully established itself in the global market for dental dynamic detectors and industrial detectors for non-destructive testing (NDT), which are new growth engines. In addition, the company has recently accelerated the localization of digital pathology diagnostic systems in the bio-imaging sector.
